November 17, 2014.
I can't believe we made it here again. It seemed to come so quickly this time around. Embryo transfer day is the day you long for. It was the day Emily's uterus would receive 2 of our embryos.
We waited in that room for a LONG time. We were so ready to do this! Emily had a few miserable days of bed rest ahead of her but she was in good spirits.
Dr. Foulk came in and once again and put his magic hands to work. I've detailed this very process (embryo transfer) before, so I will just get to the point.
Dr. Foulk showed the four of us a picture of the 2 beautiful (Grade 1!) embryos (pictured below) that Logan and I had made 5 days earlier. And shortly they would be inside Emily's womb.
When it was time, the embryologist came into the room with the catheter that held our future babies and helped Dr. Foulk insert it. It took no longer than 30 seconds to place those embryos and a minute later we heard the embryologist say "All clear."
It was done.
Emily was ordered bed rest for 2.5 days and in ten days we would return for our blood pregnancy test. It would be the day before Thanksgiving. We surely had A LOT to be thankful for.
