Blood Pregnancy Test

Emily returned for her blood pregnancy test nine days after the embryo transfer.  We waited ALL day long to hear the results, and it killed us to wait that long.

However, later that day, my phone rang.  It was Emily.  She had gotten the call.

We. were. pregnant.  Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I was on the phone with Emily, UFC called me.  I told Emily I'd call her back.  I was mostly curious about her HCG level.  I was told it was 344 that day (Day 9).  344 was fantastic!  They look for your levels to be above 50 to report a positive pregnancy test.

Whether that meant there were twins or not, we didn't know.  But, secretly, deep down, I think we all believed there were 2 little babies growing inside our amazing friend.

We would know more in two weeks when we had to return for the second blood test which confirms that her levels are rising and the pregnancy is in fact looking good.

Emily returned two weeks later and we got a report that day that her level had increased to 1494.  Things were looking excellent!  And in two more weeks an ultrasound would be done to see our little baby/babies.  We could hardly wait.
