The four of us--Logan, myself, Emily and Mike met for dinner at Trio one night just to spend some time together. It's amazing how quickly your relationship changes when you dive into a process such as this. We knew that we all needed to get to know each other better because we would share and be apart of each others personal lives a lot over the coming months. And when I say personal, I mean really personal.
The day finally arrived when all four of us had a consult with our baby maker. We were escorted down the hallway at Utah Fertility to Dr. Foulk's office. There Emily and Mike sat in two chairs right in front of Dr. Foulk's desk, while Logan and I took a seat in the couch just behind them.
Even though Logan and I have had multiple consults with Dr. Foulk, this one was different. I don't think any of us knew what to expect, what he'd say...
All we knew was that we were there, in that room, as was required of us. To me, it still didn't feel completely real. We actually had a friend here in Dr. Foulks office completely willing to turn her life upside down for us, to give us the most incredible gift we could ask for. I know a heart like that is insainley difficult to find, but we found one.
The consultation went very well. We spent a good amount of time talking about the IVF process with a gestational carrier. Dr. Foulk got a lot of information from Emily and we all got lots of questions answered. And, I'm not gonna lie, we joked and laughed, joked and laughed. How can you not lighten the mood in a situation as this!?
