Logan and I met Dr. Foulk for our "second" IVF consultation. We weren't happy to pay for another, but what's an additional $230.00 when you're going to dish out thousands! We knew we wanted to move forward with IVF and we explained to Dr. Foulk what we had already been through (Clomid, 2 IUI's). He slowly walked us through some information in lame-mens terms, which I appreciated so much!
We were told to bring any previous medical records that may help in providing some clarification of our fertility history. I had gathered the small amount I had at home. From this, Dr. Foulk indicated to us that there was an additional factor in place that was preventing us from getting pregnant. The frustrating part--this was the FIRST time we had heard of it! I was upset at that point with our previous doctor. Ugh! How could we not know about this? AND, the medical record was from the previous doctor! Lame!
After our consultation all I remember saying to Dr. Foulk was "Let's do this!" He did an actual exam that day and I was set up with another appointment to meet with the IVF coordinator to get things under way.
We left that day in good spirits and knew that was where we wanted to pursue our dream.
