Clomid: First Treatment for Infertility

I'm sure many of you have heard of Clomid, or at least many of the women my same age are familiar with it.  I was introduced to Clomid about one and a half years ago by my OBGYN.  Clomid and I became good friends for seven cycles.  Yes, seven!

In women who do ovulate regularly, Clomid may be used for "superovulation," where 2 or 3 eggs are produced. This in turn increases the number of "targets" for the sperm, thereby increasing the chance of pregnancy.

I remember being so excited to start taking Clomid.  I secretly thought more than once--this is it!  In no time at all I will be pregnant.  Well, seven months later and a handful of pregnancy tests later, no luck.  I was sure that Clomid was our ticket to starting a family.  I was wrong.

My spirits remained steady at this point.  I knew there were lots of other treatment avaible for infertitlity, and I was on bored to get started.

With a referral to a specialist from my OB, we were off.
